my family made their first collective trip up to the pnw to help us celebrate my very recent 30th birthday, and the highlight of their trip was an afternoon sailing on puget sound.
we began the calm but gorgeous day with brunch at manor house - fyi, those bananas foster pancakes need to be shared - they're delicious but massive!
after brunch we met up with our captain, harry. harry was awesome, simultaneously calm and supremely knowledgeable, he was able to fill us in on lots of little things to know about island life, as well as his boat oh joy ii, which unless i'm mistaken is named for his wife joy. we bonded over shared interests in the marketing profession and both being swim families, while our little adventure itself gave us amazing 360 views of seattle, bainbridge island, and mount rainier from the water. (so much so that i had a very difficult time selecting photos to share - there wasn't a bad one in the bunch.)
