j and i stopped by fort ward park with tavi and ended up doing a little impromptu apple picking. (it was on my bucket list, so why not?!) after our walk and a swing through downtown poulsbo we brought the apples home to make into apple butter, recipe slightly adapted from half baked harvest:

2 cups apple cider
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 pinch salt
