this past weekend we packed up the pup and headed east to leavenworth, meeting up with friends for oktoberfest. (the spaten oktoberfest was our hands down favorite beer, i don’t even like beer much and i’m now on a mission to find some!) shift work had j knocked out most of the trip but we managed to fit in the festival, plus a nice lunch at baren haus and a day exploring downtown before we headed back home for our 7th anniversary celebrations. we followed a friend’s recommendation to check out the waterfront walk, which turned out to be absolutely gorgeous. j tried to teach me to skip rocks on the water, something i learned i’m spectacularly bad at.

we may or may not have torn into our gifts a little early this year, so on the actual day we exchanged cards and headed to bruciato for dinner, followed by mora for dessert (standard date night routine.)
