we had another fantastic trip to vegas! call it an early spring break- we flew the coop and stayed at paris paris for a week. not only did we have the opportunity to visit our usual hot spots, but we checked out some new restaurants as well! we were especially excited to go to yardbird, which opened in the venetian at the start of this year. some friends of ours live in miami beach a few blocks away from the miami outpost and recommended it. everything from the bourbon-infused cocktails, to the fried chicken, mac and cheese, and the deep fried oreos with oreo ice cream were just perfection. a must-try if you like southern cooking!
we also discovered a beautiful new brunch location in paris. the weather couldn't have been more perfect for al fresco seating right on the strip. mimosas and thick cut french toast are heaven, so much so that we started more than one day at mon ami gabi.
since it was just j and i we skipped the taxi's and spent the week walking up and down the strip. it's a really great way to experience everything up close- and i didn't feel quite as bad about the crazy amount of food we ate. that's pretty much my vacation formula- walk around, eat and drink excessively, and then walk some more. sleep, lather, rinse, repeat.
